Rationale

The Sarawak Society for Professional Development in education (PROFES) is currently collaborating with Teacher Education Institute Batu Lintang Campus (Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Batu Lintang, Kuching, Sarawak/IPG KBL) to embrace the challenges in upgrading the level of professionalism of educators by co-organizing this “International Conference on Teaching and Learning through Games 2013 (iCoTLG 2013). This close cooperation and collaboration is a continuous effort in internationalizing education, Hence, with the cooperation of IPG KBL, PROFES has became a partner to the Ministry of Education Malaysia in developing human capital that would contribute towards the nation’s development. The aim to establish Malaysia as a developed nation rely on the capacity of educators in creating opportunities and providing holistic and quality education.

Intellectual discourse through conference and workshops, for example, could provide opportunities and space to educators in obtaining current knowledge and skills related to education other than providing opportunities for participants to exchange ideas with specially invited speakers or experts in the area concerned. Through conference like this, it is with hope that the knowledge and skills obtained will be used to further develop and produce knowledgable, creative and innovative human capital in tandem with current and future needs. This noble continuous effort by educationists in producing the required human capital could elevate the nation’s competitiveness and economic growth in turning the nation into a high income developed country. This is also one of the aims of the implementation of Malaysia Education Blueprint (2013 till 2025).
