The Institute of Teacher Education is an institution of higher learning that trains prospective primary and secondary school teachers.

The Institute of Teacher Education, Batu Lintang Campus is one of the 27 campuses in Malaysia. Prior to being upgraded to an institute, ITE Batu Lintang Campus was known as Batu Lintang Teachers College.

Currently, Batu Lintang Campus conducts various pre-service training programs such as the Malaysian Diploma in Teaching Course (KDPM), Primary School Postgraduate Teaching Course (KPLI-R), Bachelor of Teaching Pre-Program Course (PPISMP), Bachelor of Teaching Program Course (PISMP), Bachelor of Education - TESL (Link Program with University of Otago) as well as various in -service training programs.

Infrastructure Upgrading Development Project ITE Batu Lintang Campus is implementing development projects under the 9th Malaysia Plan (extended) which involves upgrading infrastructure and construction of several new buildings.
